17: BOUNCE (Round 2)

Hello hello!

This week I helped bring BOUNCE – BacktoBack Theatre’s fantastic two-hander play – to the Totton Festival of Drama. First round of this year’s competition and my second time working on this show – here’s what happened!

This week we’re gonna do things a little differently. If video blogs are vlogs, here’s an Aulog – an audio blog! Or a radio piece, that’s what they’re called. But Aulog’s a funny word, so I’m gonna use that.

For brief context, we performed the one act play “BOUNCE” written by Tom Derrington at the festival on Tuesday. Here’s a link to a review from their run in London last year. I caught up with:

  • The Actors: Nick Robinson and Chrissie Derrington.
  • The Director: Kitty Cecil-Wright.
  • Chair of the Totton Festival of Drama: Mike Farleigh.
  • Adjudicator of the evening’s plays: David Price.
  • And friends of the show: Caroline Burr and John Willmott.

My role was to run lights and sound for the show, and this is how the night went…

Thank you to everyone for taking the time to chat with me on mic!

It was great fun coming back to the show and seeing a new audience take it in! Also of course a pleasure working with BacktoBack Theatre again after collaborating last year on Bounce’s run in Bournemouth.

Announcements for the next stage of the festival will happen tomorrow after the final performers have taken their bows. Here’s to BacktoBack getting through to the next round!!

Until the next time, dear reader, keep Bouncing!
